The cars won’t be racing through Willow Glen … Of course, we are referring to the Champ Cars; that VW Passat racing through the curves on Bird Avenue doesn’t count.

The San Jose Grand Prix (fresh with a new corporate name we’re not going to use, in favor of civic pride) is the last weekend in July, but you can get a taste of it now.

On Tuesday, June 14, the Rotary Club of Campbell & San Jose West welcomes SJGP promoter Mike O’Kane, who will talk about the upcoming race at the Club’s weekly luncheon. If you’ve ever thought about joining Rotary (or any service club), here’s an opportunity to learn more, and enjoy a fun program, too. And, you get a great lunch for just $10.

Rotary is an international fellowship of business people committed to community service and professional excellence. There are 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide, each making an impact through 31,000 local clubs. If you would like to attend Tuesday’s luncheon, just send an email to “Rotary@RotaryCSJw.org” before Monday night.
