Maybe we had a pretty good idea a year ago. April marks our first anniversary of publishing Willow Glen Extra, and we keep getting asked what’s next for WGx. Actually, that’s mostly us asking ourselves, but …

WGx includes a growing array of business and community blogs, all highlighting life in your neighborhood. We’re the online place where you can find great food, learn about healthy habits, play sports, support local schools, and help improve the community. You are still invited to become part of WGx.

And … Introducing our newest feature … you can now browse and submit digital pictures … Read about Pictures on WGx!

Sites like this one are fun to build, and are developing quite a following.

A few months ago, the WG Resident featured an article about Merchant Circle, which was more focused on business blogs. They mentioned Elva’s Coffee Stop (a WGx Blog) as good example of a great business blog.

And another, similar concept founded and published by Dan Gillmor has recently been sold to an East-Coast startup that hosts other neighborhood news sites. Dan’s Bayosphere has now become Backfence Bay Area. Their first focus will be on Palo Alto. Bayosphere was a well developed concept with extensive insider news and comments on the tech world, business, and life in the Bay Area.

WGx is a humble little weblog talking about Willow Glen … and so far, we’re happy to be just that! :-)
