Independent Neighborhood News & Talking Points

School may be getting out in less than two weeks, but that won’t stop Booksin Elementary School from opening its new parking lot. Actually it’s a lot like the old parking lot (which has been closed more than two school years during the addition of its new classrooms), but newer.
On Monday morning, expect new traffic patterns and more than a few confused pedestrians as families learn how to use the new/old parking lot, located just south of the corner of Marques & Dry Creek. If you drive anywhere near the school in the mornings, we recommend that you use an alternate route.
One Response for "Booksin Traffic Advisory"
Booksin’s new parking lot has more spaces and includes a much, much safer turnout for dropping off students. Parents should use the new drop off area rather than leaving children at the curb on Booksin Avenue. Pedestrians (adults or children) should not walk through the new lot. With the new lot, teachers no longer need to park on campus because of lack of street parking. Larger gate openings from the lot onto campus allow for easier access to classrooms (after school hours) by district and staff vehicles. Neighbors should see less school related parking in front of their homes and a reduction of jaywalking during drop-off hours. The new lot is already proving to be well worth the wait!
