If your kids enjoy horses, September 23 brings a great combination of activities at Arena Green, along the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens:
“Hoofing It For Kids’ Safety,” to take place Sept.23 across the street from the Shark Tank at the Arena Garden downtown, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The event will feature fingerprinting booths, car seat demonstrations, art tables, jump houses and goodie bags for children. Kids are also welcome to meet the police horses that help officers sit tall and fight crime.

The San Jose Police Department will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its fan favorite Mounted Unit this fall with friends. Nonprofit organization Friends of the San Jose Mounted Unit, founded by former San Jose vice mayor legislative aid Denelle Fedor, is dedicated to preserving the horse patrol in the nation’s tenth largest city.
If you can’t ride your own horse to the party, why not take VTA Route 64 to the event?
