It’s open! The latest segment of the Highway 87 widening project is open today … Drivers on southbound Highway 87 will be coming home tonight using the the re-worked exit to Alma Street.
When traveling on Highway 87 south, drivers now exit for Alma (actually Lelong and Willow, too) almost immediately after crossing under Interstate 280. Traffic merges with those entering Hwy 87 from I-280, while the 87-to-280 merge is extended south of the Alma exit (aka Exit #4).

The merge lane will be lengthened when work on the retaining wall next to the on-ramp is done in a few weeks. And when the widening on 87 is completed north of here in the summer, Alma traffic will have its own merge lane. [...]
