Willow Glen Relay For Life Kick-Off
benefitting the American Cancer Society

10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Saturday, March 3, 2007 @ the Garden Theater

In addition to food and fun activities, oncolology nurse Sr. Patrice Coolick from O’Connor Hospital will be on hand for free blood pressure screenings and suggestions for living a healthy life.

Relay For Life is a 24-hour team event to fight cancer. The actual Willow Glen Relay for Life is scheduled May 5–6, 2007, at Willow Glen High School. Teams camp out for the 24 hours and try to have one team member walking the track throughout the event. The full day signifies one day in the life of someone fighting cancer or living in memory of someone who has lost the battle.

The 2006 Relay For Life fundraising efforts increased by over 150% from the year prior. This year’s event hopes to raise over $110,000.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Relay Rally. For more information about the WG Relay, contact Jess Herrera, Manager for Community Development, American Cancer Society at 408.688.0108 or jess.herrera@cancer.org.
