Permits and Progress for Office/Retail/Food:

Permit applications for conventional rezoning of the southwest corner of Lincoln & Curtner were submitted last month, and the project may be moving forward soon. There are actually two lots on the single parcel, and the southern-most one is being rezoned to “CP Commercial District.” A proposal for a 6,000 sq-ft retail fast food center on the full parcel is still in the preliminary stages.

Somewhat related, the new retail and office complex at Lincoln and Pascoe, kitty-cornered from the old Silver Leaf is already being framed.

Graffiti — Tale of Two Properties: Not related other than by geography, the owners of the now-shuttered Precision Autotune building on the northeast corner are to be commended for quickly removing graffiti from the garage door within hours earlier this week, even though vandalism has increased recently.

The owners of the oft-troubled liquor store property at Malone & Lincoln could learn from this example. A “volt” graffiti tag has gone unabated for several weeks. Too bad this property owner isn’t part of the WG Business Association, which spruced up the northern stretch of Lincoln during April. Maybe they should read WGx, too … The WGx graffiti abatement program continues … er, unabated.
