Independent Neighborhood News & Talking Points

It’s not been a very pleasant start to October around Willow Glen …
Tragedy struck WG again on Monday, after a 12-year-old girl was abducted south of Walgreens near Koch Lane and Almaden Expressway yesterday. About 20 minutes after the abduction, the girl was discovered 3 miles south with serious injuries. She has suffered multiple fractures to her pelvis and a fracture to her skull. Despite being in pain and shock, the girl had enough sense to fight back and escape.
SJPD has provided few details, but did provide a timeline in a KTVU interview last night. Police are looking for a white or Hispanic male approximately 6-feet tall, sporting a goatee, and driving an older, large white 4-door vehicle.
Today, she is still in a hospital bed as police search for the man who kidnapped her and possibly sexually assaulted her.
The suspect is described as white or Latino, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, with a thin build, long black hair and a goatee. He wore a black shirt and was driving a large white, older, possibly American-made sedan.
Until the man is caught, Muyo said residents in the neighborhood south of Willow Glen and throughout the city should be on alert.
“This is scary from the standpoint that this is a guy that ripped a girl off a city street at 4:15 in the afternoon,” he said. “Everyone should be very concerned about what happened here.”
Parents should make sure that when their children go out they stay with a large group of kids, to reduce the risk that one could be picked up.
