After a weeks-long parade of cars into — and then immediately out-of — the Shell Station at Hamilton & Meridian, the station’s new car wash opened in November. The celebratory banner has been on display for a few weeks, so WGx took the plunge on your behalf.

Shell Car WashYes, it is truly a new carwash, with fancy new parts that – if nothing else – look much cleaner than the old iron-clad and cement-sided drive-through did.

It’s also quite possible that you get to pay a “new” price, too. The cheapest wash is now the $6 Express ($10 for the “Ultimate”).

But if you are one of those people who aren’t ready to trust your cherished automobile to just any drive-through carwash, WGx thought you’d appreciate some extra details.

The new “FoamBrite” system is manufactured by Ryko Manufacturing Company, a maker of a “complete line of vehicle wash systems from roll over automatics to conveyors to self-service systems.” Here’s what their PDF brochure says about FoamBrite:

    A REVOLUTIONARY BREAKTHROUGH

  • Provides a safe, soft, gentle wash
  • Repeated washing enhances the vehicle’s gloss and luster
  • Increases customer satisfaction with a thorough wash, time after time
  • Material is virtually water resistant – dirt and sand are washed away
  • FoamBrite is extremely durable but soft and forgiving – a feather-light wash
  • The wash process is unlike anything available at existing wash locations

FoamBrite gives you the opportunity to customize the look of your wash system. Let your imagination run wild! Combine any of the 14 vibrant FoamBrite colors now available to come up with an eye-catching effect with lots of curb appeal.

Fourteen colors? Obviously, WGx was totally entranced by the wash process “unlike anything available” … and forgot to notice which colors Shell chose.

Curb appeal? Next time you’re driving by, let us all know if you can see the brush colors. ;-)
