When the school year starts, everyone gets focused on driver safety … and WGx has been no exception over the years.
But does anyone ever demand increased safety when school ends? Upon reflection, wouldn’t the crazy, unpredictable months be the ones where hazard avoidance and pedestrian awareness might be a little bit more important? Just asking …
In case you were curious, most public school students in WG begin their summer vacations today. Some private schools are already out for the season. Calendars will vary, but SJUSD schools return August 26.
Anyway, Congratulations Graduates! Good luck to students advancing one more year toward their next diploma, and let’s hear it for next year’s Kindergartners, too!
And maybe someone can trim back this tree before kids return to school in the late August, thus making the government’s investment in neon green signs last for one more year — actually, this sign has been up for less than a year. This one’s on Bird Avenue, across from Galarza School,in case you’re wondering. ![]()
