Building owner Michael Mulcahy said the corportion has not officially notified him of the pending closure. He found out the news from television reporters who went to the coffee shop that evening after Starbucks released a list of planned store closures.

Mulcahy said he had a hunch that the Garden Theater location would be on the list when he first heard the rumor that Starbucks was looking at shutting down some of its sites that had been open less than two years and in close proximity to another Starbucks.

Starbucks has not announced an official close date for the site, but Mulcahy said he has already received calls from potential tenants.
