Happy Independence Day!

Just like Elva, the WGx “staff” is taking vacation this month.

But, like any good (?) media outlet, WGx has cleverly crafted a bunch of season finale cliff-hangers to keep your attention through the summer! Surf on back in late July, when we’ll all find the answer to these burning questions:

• Will cars ever be allowed on the paved Almaden Expressway exit ramp to Curtner Avenue?
• Will Fresh & Easy ever open in Willow Glen? One Store? Two?
• Will Happy Hollow officially relocate to WG during its remodel?
• Will the Willow Glen Resident still have its own website?
• Will the WG Library open as scheduled on August 23? … and how come the Pearl Branch gets to celebrate two weeks earlier (August 9)?
• Will the Hose Wagon remain a mere historical relic all summer long?
• Will Bella the famous lost dog find her way home? (Latest siting: Silver Creek in mid-June)
• Will water ever flow freely again at Lincoln Glen Park?
• Will the natural-wood toy store Tree House in the Glen — originally promised in March — ever open downtown on Lincoln Avenue?
• Will “Opa!” open on Lincoln Avenue — replacing Go Go Cuisine — with or without a liquor license, which has proven elusive and/or troublesome for Maykadeh Cafe and Mio Vicino, for separate reasons.
• Who will win the race … will the smoke leave town before the tomatoes have fully returned?
