What’s so special about living in Willow Glen?

Well, among many other things … We are the “beta testers” for a new location-based consumer service designed to bring local shoppers and merchants together to save everyone money.

Spreezio is a startup based right here in Willow Glen. The new company is looking to connect shoppers to merchants without costly or annoying advertising. In theory, shoppers can make a deal on products or services directly with local merchants, with everyone getting more for their money.

spreezioThe local start-up launched shopper registration at last month’s Dancin’ On The Avenue event, including a little “pro local merchant” rally.

And Founder and CEO Todd Chipman announced Spreezio’s opening on the WG2.0 website in late June, along with a friendly email copied to WGx:

My name is Todd Chipman and I’ve lived in Willow Glen for the past 15 years. About a year ago, I became concerned with the number of merchants going out of business on Lincoln Avenue. So, I decided to do something about it and founded a startup company named Spreezio.

Spreezio connects imminent shoppers to merchants without the need for businesses to advertise, making them more profitable. Shoppers can make a deal on products or services directly with local merchants, to get more value for their money.

Spreezio was also recently featured in an online report in the digital section of entrepreneur-focused Venture Beat.

While customers may be a little scarce, they already have 40 local merchants signed up, including GES Insurance, Adira Dance, Athletic Performance, and Round Table Pizza … just in case you needed a little incentive.

Oh … and did Todd mention the service is free? All you need is a PC or an iPhone to use the service.
