Lincoln Avenue got a little attention from the print media this week, and WGx thought you’d want to know.
On Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle profiled a few of the more well-known businesses in Downtown Willow Glen in the paper’s Street Date focus:
Lincoln Avenue, San Jose: Although part of San Jose since the 1930s, the independent character of Willow Glen continues to make it feel like its own little town. A welcome sign greets visitors, and along tree-dotted Lincoln Avenue, a mix of single-story buildings house small businesses that reflect their owners’ creativity. It’s a neighborhood for meandering – don’t rush – for there’s much to peruse and you’ll probably engage in several conversations with the friendly merchants here.
Among the businesses mentioned were Hicklebee’s Childrens Books and the Thrift Box.
Not mentioned was one of the newer businesses, Baby Buzz Cafe. But columnist Patty Fisher and the SJ Mercury News took care of that oversight with a bigger story about the diaper donation drives organized by the “Help A Mother Out” campaign.
One of the group’s donation centers is located at Baby Buzz, which will also host the next “Give Cheeks a Chance” drive in September.
