WGx can’t help but wonder if the new SVCN Boss will make updating Willow Glen Resident website a priority. Until then … WGx thought you might want to know what’s in the paper.

While we can’t reproduce the whole paper online, here are some of the bigger headlines from Friday, September 25, 2009:

  • School District considering flu shot clinics for students in Fall
  • Cover Story: Trail Blazer: Janet Gray Hayes started feminist tradition in San Jose … Mayoral majority: Janet Gray led the way to feminist capital of the country.
  • What could be better for a celebration than new shoes? … In case you couldn’t tell from the headline, it’s about new shoes for residents of Chai House in celebration of Rosh Hashanah.
  • Willow Glen honors history with Founder’s Day Parade … in case you missed like WGx did, WGx still covered the parade via Twitter
  • Food & Wine: recession helps wine school lure aspiring vintners … This is an AP Story, so it’s also all over the internet, with pictures!
  • General Manager is named for several Bay Area news groups … the story about the new boss may have been buried on Page 11, but it does include his picture!
  • Attacker tangles with wrong gal … follow-up to news reported by WGx last week.
  • Opinion: It’s September, and the days are getting short … News? Opinion? Dale Bryant’s opinion is actually a comparison piece on September versus January, and September seem to win. Check back in January.
  • SmallCandleLetters: Fluoride Panic? … the Letters section of the paper is on a two-week run of mini-tirades from readers opposed to fluoridating water in San Jose. Where’s the response from the pro-fluoride lobby?
  • Counselor’s service at Camp Everytown leaders fer to write book about experience. … the book is called A Small Candle, and is available from the author’s website.
  • A real-life heroine wields both pen and sword in ‘Autumn Gem
  • Silva helps rams net back-to-back wins
