Art by Julie Christine for April

The new artwork is up at Elva’s Coffee Stop … drop by, enjoy some coffee, and peruse the whimsical computer-enhanced, hand-embellished artwork from Julie Christine.

My artwork begins with a line drawing by hand. It is scanned into the computer, digitally painted and then individually hand embellished with acrylic gems and glitter. … I seldom use anything outside of my imagination to inspire my artwork. My pieces are usually inspired from emotions or a state of consciousness I love to enter.

We’ve had Julie’s fairy pottery on display for a while, and we’re happy to add her framed pieces as a complement.

CJ [Brasiel] put together an 8 mile hike/tour of homes in Willow Glen that are of historical and architectural interest. Details are gleaned from the book “Touring Historical Willow Glenâ€? … We’ll also take a look at a couple of homes for sale that just happen to be holding open houses this weekend…

The walk starts and ends at Elva’s at 11 AM on Saturday April 12. Depending on how much we linger to look, the walk will likely take 2.5 to 3 hrs. Don’t forget to bring some water!
