Really. You should. It’s easy to do, fun to share, and it really defines your own space online.
But, seriously, why should you blog?
Blogging may or may not be the most exciting development in personal publishing ever. Twenty years ago, someone said the same thing about a Macintosh computer running PageMaker. Nonetheless, it’s a great tool for expressing yourself or keeping memories in safe place (no one says you have to share your blog with anyone).
Families: Blogs are a great place to share pictures and memories. Weblogs help keep your families in touch with each other. It also provides a great forum to record those precious memories from life?s little moments. And, you might find a soapbox or two. Sometimes called “Baby Blogs” these memories will truly last a lifetime.
Businesses: Big businesses are finding that Blogs help them collaborate and share ideas internally. Small businesses can use them, too. Blogs are especially well-suited for small stores and restaurants who would like to maintain a dynamic presence online. If you have frequent news to share (big sales, changing menus, daily specials,) or just want a site that can be simply updated without any technical knowledge, a blog is perfect.
Resources: Blogging can be completely free, if you are savvy enough to create a page using the myriad web tools available. A quick primer, and some common blogging tools can be found by reading the Wikipedia Blog page.
